Description:

The REALM Team in Hyderabad is seeking a Support Engineer III (DevOps/Software Support Engineer) who will be the first line of defense for production software application issues across nearly 100+ Amazon Transportation Technology services worldwide.

This role is vital because the solutions you provide will directly impact Amazon customers. The environment is dynamic, requiring someone who can learn quickly, adapt to multiple tasks, and coordinate across diverse teams during high-impact issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production software issues.
  • Develop and implement monitoring solutions to improve system stability.
  • Perform software maintenance and configuration updates.
  • Implement fixes in internally developed codebases (Perl, Ruby, Java).
  • Execute SQL queries for debugging and data correction.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance existing software solutions.
  • Automate support processes and document technical solutions.
  • Proactively detect potential outages by building metrics, alarms, and monitoring dashboards.
  • Contribute to Amazon-wide and divisional projects involving custom-built applications and SaaS systems.

Key Technical Skills:

SQL, Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, C#, .NET, Bash scripting, JSON, XML, REST web services, Unix, Web application debugging, Distributed systems, Monitoring & automation

Requirements:

  • 2+ years in software development or technical support.
  • Proficiency in scripting with modern programming languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in technical systems.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development.
  • Experience with REST APIs, XML, and JSON.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix environments.
  • Scripting expertise in Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and maintaining hardware/software RAID systems.
